Gorka Gamarra holds a Degree in Law from the Public University of the Basque Country and a Masters in International Law University in Belgium. He has worked over the last fifteen years in good governance, transitional justice and access to justice programmes for international organizations such as UNESCO, UNDP, the OCDE, among others, as well as for non-governmental organizations mostly in Africa (post-genocide Rwanda and Guinea-Bissau).
Gorka also directs documentaries on cultural issues and on human rights such as Umurage (2009) on the possibility of reconciliation following the Rwandan genocide and Lantanda (2014) on the coexistence between official languages and mother tongues in Africa.
He held the position of Head of Project in the Comoros, where he worked on electoral and democratisation assistance issues for ECES.
