- Contribution to a shared culture of electoral integrity. Through sustained peer exchange, dialogue, and joint reflection among African Electoral Management Bodies and their regional networks, the project is expected to contribute, alongside the African Union's own work, to the gradual development of shared values around electoral integrity and the peaceful management of electoral processes.
- Closer cooperation and dialogue among African electoral stakeholders. By creating opportunities for peer-to-peer exchange and comparative reflection, the project is expected to support closer cooperation among EMBs and to help build the conditions for collective responses to election-related challenges.
- Support to the technical preparedness of EMBs. Through advisory services, tailored technical assistance, and capacity development, the project is expected to help EMBs and democratic governance institutions engage with emerging challenges — including disinformation, cybersecurity, political polarisation, and the impact of digital technologies and artificial intelligence on elections.
- Support to constitutionalism, the rule of law, and post-conflict governance. Through conflict prevention activities, post-conflict peace-building, and support to transitional justice processes, the project is expected to contribute to broader continental efforts towards inclusive governance and longer-term institutional resilience.
- Encouraging inclusive participation and democratic awareness. The project is expected to support the participation of women, youth, and underrepresented groups in democratic and electoral processes. Through the mainstreaming of the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance (ACDEG) into education systems and civic initiatives, it also seeks to contribute to wider awareness of democratic values, constitutionalism, and the rule of law among young people.
