ECES Supports AAEA Peer Learning Mission and LEAD-AI Training in Cameroon

The European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES), through the Pro-Electoral Integrity Project co-funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, supported two major activities held in Cameroon in September 2025, in partnership with the Association of African Electoral Authorities (AAEA).

From 11 to 19 September 2025, ECES supported the AAEA Peer Learning Mission to Cameroon, which fostered knowledge exchange, comparative learning, and collaboration among Electoral Management Bodies (EMBs) from across Africa. The mission provided a platform for sharing best practices in election management, innovation, technology, gender inclusion, and communication strategies—reinforcing collective efforts toward credible, transparent, and inclusive electoral processes.

Following this, from 23 to 26 September 2025, ECES organized the LEAD–Artificial Intelligence (LEAD-AI) Training, designed to enhance leadership and decision-making capacities within electoral institutions. The training introduced participants to the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence in electoral processes, with a focus on strategic planning, communication, and evidence-based management.

Together, these two initiatives reflect ECES’s ongoing commitment to strengthening institutional capacity, promoting innovation, and fostering regional cooperation in support of transparent and inclusive democratic governance across Africa.
