AAEA Peer Learning Mission in Côte d’Ivoire

From 21 to 28 October 2025, Côte d’Ivoire is hosting a Peer Learning Mission organised by the Association of African Electoral Authorities (AAEA), with the technical support of the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES). This activity is part of the Pro-Electoral Integrity project, funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The mission aims to promote knowledge sharing, exchange of good practices, and capacity building among African Electoral Management Bodies (EMBs) to enhance effectiveness, credibility, and efficiency in the management of electoral processes.

The programme includes working meetings, field visits, and exchanges with electoral stakeholders. Among the key moments, the meeting between the AAEA delegation and the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI) of Côte d’Ivoire provided an opportunity to discuss electoral planning, operations, technology, and issues related to transparency and inclusion.

As part of the programme, the ECES delegation presented Lead AI, an initiative focusing on leadership, empowerment, and artificial intelligence applied to electoral management. The presentation encouraged reflection on the opportunities offered by digital innovation to strengthen electoral transparency and efficiency.

This Peer Learning Mission forms part of the ongoing efforts of the AAEA and its partners to promote cooperation, training, and the sharing of experiences among African electoral institutions.
